Summer can be brutal on the skin—sun, sweat, chlorine, and salt water all team up to dry everything out.
At the same time, it’s the season when our skin is on display the most, so keeping it soft, healthy, and glowy becomes top priority.
After a lot of trial and error, I finally landed on a simple routine that keeps my body skin consistently hydrated, smooth, and calm through the hottest months. Here’s exactly what I do!
1. Start with a Gentle Rinse & Cleanse
Cleansing is non-negotiable during summer since sweat, sunscreen, and chlorine cling to the skin. I stick to a gentle gel cleanser made without harsh chemicals so it removes buildup without leaving my skin tight or irritated. It’s the perfect reset after a long day in the sun.
2. Apply Serum While Skin Is Slightly Damp
Instead of towel-drying everything at once, I gently pat dry one section at a time and immediately layer on a hydrating serum. Applying it to damp skin makes a huge difference—it helps the ingredients sink in deeper and boosts hydration levels. This step alone transformed my skin’s texture.
3. Seal It In With a Lightweight Lotion
Once the serum has fully absorbed (usually around 15 minutes), I follow up with a nourishing body lotion to lock everything in. This combination keeps my skin hydrated for hours and gives it that plump, healthy look that feels so good during summer.
A simple three-step routine can make all the difference when your skin is battling heat, humidity, and all the outdoor fun summer brings. Layering hydration intentionally keeps my skin soft, smooth, and glowing no matter the weather!
