Shower gel used to be the most forgettable part of my routine—I’d grab whatever smelled decent and move on. But over time, I started noticing how some formulas left my skin feeling comfortable, while others made it feel oddly tight a few minutes later. Since then, I’ve been a bit more selective.
Right now, I keep going back to Bioderma Atoderm Gel and Grace and Glow English Pear & Freesia Shower Gel, and honestly, they feel like two completely different moods in a bottle.
Bioderma Atoderm Gel
This one feels like a quiet, dependable choice. The texture is smooth, not too thick, and it lathers gently without turning into something overly foamy. What I notice most is how my skin feels after rinsing—clean, but not stripped. There’s no rush to apply lotion immediately, which says a lot. I tend to reach for this when my skin feels a bit dry or when I just want something simple and comforting.
Grace and Glow English Pear & Freesia Shower Gel
This one is a completely different story. The scent is the first thing that pulls me in—it’s fresh, slightly sweet, and lingers just enough to feel noticeable without being overwhelming. Using it feels a bit more like a small indulgence rather than just a routine step. The lather is richer compared to the Bioderma one, and it gives that “fresh out of the shower” feeling in a more noticeable way. I usually go for this when I want something a little uplifting, especially in the morning or before heading out.
Switching between these two made me realize that even something as simple as shower gel can shift the tone of a day. Bioderma feels like care—steady, minimal, almost like it’s there to support my skin quietly. Grace and Glow feels more expressive, something I use when I want to enjoy the moment a bit more. Neither replaces the other, and I don’t think they’re meant to.
