Primers That Never Fail!

Hey Lykkers! I’ve been playing around with different primers for a while now, and honestly, it’s one of those steps I used to skip all the time.
But once I started paying attention to how much smoother my makeup looked, I kind of got hooked. Not every primer works the same way, and I’ve definitely learned that the hard way.
1. YSL Instant Moisture Glow Primer
This one honestly feels like skincare and makeup had a luxury baby. The texture is super light, and it melts into the skin so quickly. On days when my skin feels dry or a bit dull, this instantly makes everything look more alive. I like how it doesn’t feel heavy at all—more like a soft glow layer under foundation. Sometimes I even use it on its own when I just want my skin to look healthy without doing a full face.
2. Benefit The POREfessional Pore Primer
This is the one I reach for when my pores are having their “loud” days. The texture is silky and smooth, and it really does blur things out in a noticeable way. What I like most is how it helps my base stay in place, especially around my nose and T-zone. It gives that soft-focus finish that makes everything look more put together, even if my makeup is really minimal.
3. Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer
This one feels the most “polished” out of the three. It has that soft, balm-like texture that spreads nicely and gives the skin a really even surface. I usually use it when I want my makeup to look extra clean and long-lasting. It sits beautifully under foundation and helps everything blend more smoothly without patchiness. I don’t really stick to just one primer anymore because my skin changes depending on the day.
If I had to pick a favorite moment, it’s honestly when I look in the mirror after blending foundation and everything just looks… smooth without effort. Which one would you reach for first?
