Good Day, Readers! Cream makeup is still pretty new in my collection, so I’ll admit I was slightly nervous about trying cream bronzers.

I’m definitely not the person who can pick up a makeup brush and magically make everything look perfect on the first try.

Both are surprisingly easy to blend, which makes them great starting points for anyone who feels a little intimidated by cream products. No professional makeup skills required.

1. Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Bronzer — $26

Shade: Happy Sol

This one gets all the brownie points from me. I don’t think I’ve tried a bronzer with a texture quite like this before. It glides across the skin like butter and blends out so effortlessly. Even when I apply a little more than I intended, it’s pretty easy to soften the edges and make everything look natural.

The formula feels incredibly smooth, and I prefer the way it blends compared with the Merit bronzer. The shade also has that lovely balance between warm and slightly cool tones, so it gives me definition without making my makeup look overly orange.

2. Merit Bronze Balm — $30

Shade: Sienne

Merit feels completely different from Rare Beauty. The formula is much more sheer and has that soft, balm-like texture that gives a very subtle result. This is the bronzer I reach for when I’m barely wearing makeup. Think moisturizer, sunscreen, maybe a little concealer, and then this. It blends easily and adds a warm, glowy flush without making the makeup feel too done.

Sometimes I don’t want perfectly sculpted-looking cheeks, and Merit is great for those simple makeup days when I just want a little extra dimension.

For a stronger bronzed look, Rare Beauty wins for me. The buttery texture, easy blending, and gorgeous finish have completely sold me. Merit is more my “no-makeup makeup” choice. It’s sheer, effortless, and perfect for those mornings when I want to look a little more put together without actually doing much.

I used to think cream makeup would be difficult to work with, but these two have made me much more willing to experiment. Sometimes trying something outside your usual makeup routine pays off.
