Friends, I always keep a charcoal mask in my skincare routine because my skin can start looking dull and oily after a long week. Whenever I feel like my pores need a little extra care, I reach for one of these masks.
They each have a different texture and finish, so I switch between them depending on how my skin feels that day.
1. Buttah Skin Charcoal Detox Mask
This is the mask I grab when my skin feels congested and needs a deep reset. I like how creamy it is because it spreads evenly without feeling overly thick. As it dries, it doesn't become painfully tight, which makes the whole experience much more comfortable. After rinsing it off, my skin usually feels cleaner and smoother without feeling stripped.
I also notice that my T-zone looks less shiny, and my makeup applies more evenly afterward. I enjoy using it about once a week whenever I want my skin to feel refreshed.
2. The Body Shop Charcoal Pore-Minimising Mask
This one gives me more of a spa-like experience. The texture is packed with tiny exfoliating pieces, so it feels like I'm giving my skin a gentle polish while I rinse it away. I especially like using it after spending a lot of time outdoors. My skin always feels incredibly smooth afterward, and it looks brighter without feeling dry. Because it has a stronger cleansing effect, I don't use it too often. For me, once a week is enough to keep my skin looking fresh and balanced.
3. Q+A Activated Charcoal Face Mask
When my skin only needs a quick refresh, this is usually the one I choose. The lightweight texture makes it easy to apply, and it washes off without much effort. I appreciate products that fit easily into my routine, especially on busy evenings.
After using it, my skin feels soft, clean, and comfortable. It helps reduce that greasy feeling I sometimes get by the end of the day while leaving my skin feeling hydrated instead of tight. It's a simple mask that works well whenever I want a quick boost.
These three charcoal masks all earn a place in my routine for different reasons. The Buttah Skin mask is my pick for a deep cleanse, The Body Shop version is perfect when I want smoother-looking skin, and the Q+A mask is my favorite for a fast refresh. I like rotating between them instead of sticking to just one because my skin doesn't always need the same kind of care.
Having a few reliable options makes it easy for me to keep my skin feeling clean, comfortable, and ready for the week ahead.
