Retinol Serums I Keep!

Hello Lykkers! Retinol is one skincare step I’ve learned to take slowly. I used to think stronger automatically meant better, but my skin definitely prefers a more patient approach.
Right now, two retinol serums I enjoy having in my routine are The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% in Squalane and La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum. They both bring something different to my nighttime routine.

1. The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% in Squalane

I like The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% in Squalane when I want a straightforward retinol product without a complicated routine around it. The formula combines retinol with squalane, giving it a smooth, oily texture that feels quite comfortable on my skin.
For me, the squalane makes a noticeable difference in how the serum feels. I don’t get that super-dry sensation I sometimes associate with retinol products. Instead, my skin feels cushioned and moisturized after application.

2. La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum

La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum feels a little more polished to me. I like reaching for it when I want retinol paired with ingredients that make my routine feel more comfortable and balanced. The serum has a lightweight texture that spreads easily, so I don’t need much product. I find it particularly nice for evenings when I want my skincare routine to stay simple but still include a retinol step.
I usually keep my routine simple when I use it. I apply a small amount at night and follow with a moisturizer. I also prefer starting slowly rather than applying retinol every night right away.
If I want something simple and more nourishing in texture, I reach for The Ordinary Retinol 0.5% in Squalane. When I want a lightweight serum with a more balanced formula, La Roche-Posay Retinol B3 Serum gets my vote. I’m happy keeping both around because my skin doesn’t need the same thing every night.
