Lip Balm Battle!

· Fashion team
Hello Readers! When it comes to lip balms, I’ve noticed that some formulas can feel surprisingly similar even when the prices are completely different.
Sometimes it feels like the brand name is doing most of the work when it comes to the price tag. I definitely enjoy a few pricier lip balms, but I’ve also found affordable ones that give me almost the same finish. These two are a perfect example of that for me!
Glossier Birthday Balm Dotcom — $14
The Birthday Balm Dotcom might honestly be my favorite Glossier product that I own. I don’t have a huge Glossier collection, although I’ve been wanting to try the Glossier You fragrance for the longest time. First of all, the birthday cake scent is SO good. It smells and tastes amazing, which makes reapplying it way too easy. The formula is also nicely moisturizing, so it’s not just cute packaging and a fun scent.
e.l.f. Ride or Die Lip Balm — $6
I’m not even sure if this one is still available, which makes me a little sad because I really like it. I think I bought mine around six months ago, and it has been such a good little find. The shade looks really flattering on me, which is probably one of the biggest reasons I keep reaching for it. It’s also super affordable, and the price can be even better when it happens to go on sale. The formula reminds me a lot of the Glossier one—or at least the finish feels very similar to me. That’s what makes this comparison so interesting!
If I’m choosing based on the whole experience, Glossier wins because I love the scent, packaging, and formula. But if we’re talking about value, e.l.f. definitely makes a strong case. Honestly, I just wish there were an easy way to get the e.l.f. one again because I’d happily repurchase it. Which one would you pick?
