Hey Readers! Lip liner can completely change how a lipstick looks, even when I’m wearing the same lip color I always use. Some days I want a soft, barely-there outline, while other looks call for a deeper border that gives the lips more definition.
Morphe Bubble Bath and NYX Cabaret Plump Red give me two very different ways to play with lip color.

1. Morphe Signature Lip Pencil — Bubble Bath

Morphe Signature Lip Pencil in Bubble Bath is the kind of shade I like when I’m going for a soft, neutral lip. Its light tone works nicely underneath pink lip colors, helping create a more defined shape without making the liner look too obvious. I can easily picture using it with a glossy lip for a casual makeup day. A little liner around the edges, softly blended toward the center, and a swipe of gloss is enough to create that effortless finish I usually want when I’m not in the mood for a full lipstick look.

2. NYX Professional Makeup Slim Lip Pencil — Cabaret Plump Red

NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Cabaret Plump Red takes things in a much bolder direction. The deep red tone gives the lips instant definition, making it a great choice when I want the lip look to have more presence. A shade this rich can easily become the main feature of the makeup. I’d pair it with softly defined eyes and a little blush, keeping everything else relatively simple so the red liner gets its moment.
Morphe Bubble Bath is soft, neutral, and easy to blend into everyday lip looks. NYX Cabaret Plump Red feels richer and more dramatic, especially when I want a classic red lip with extra definition. For me, keeping both types in a collection makes sense. A pale neutral liner handles those quick, understated makeup days, while a deep red pencil is ready whenever I want my lips to take center stage.
