Cotton Pads That Feel Soft

Hi Lykkers! I never thought I’d have much of an opinion about cotton pads, but using the wrong ones can make makeup removal surprisingly annoying.
Some soak up way too much remover, while others start leaving little bits of cotton behind. I’ve been keeping a couple of different styles around because I like them for completely different reasons.

1. The Sky Organics Organic Cotton Ovals — around $8

I like these when I want a classic cotton pad that feels soft and substantial. The oval shape gives me enough room to swipe away makeup without constantly flipping the pad over. My usual trick is to saturate it with remover, press it over the area for a few seconds, and then gently wipe. I find this works much better than immediately scrubbing at makeup, especially around areas where I have several layers of product.
The cotton feels comfortable, and I like having a slightly larger pad when I’m removing foundation, blush, or other makeup that has spread across a bigger area. For me, it’s the kind of basic beauty item that quietly earns its place because it makes the routine less fussy.

2. Pyunkang Yul 1/3 Cotton Pads — around $5

These are much thinner, and that’s exactly why I enjoy using them. Instead of feeling like I’m pouring remover onto a fluffy cotton pad and watching half of it disappear, I can use a smaller amount and spread it where I need it.
I usually fold the pad or use it in sections depending on what I’m removing. For stubborn makeup, I’ll hold it against the area for a moment before wiping rather than rubbing repeatedly. The thin texture also makes these handy when I want to use a watery toner or essence. They don’t feel bulky, and I can control the amount of product much more easily.
I’d happily keep both in my drawer. One is my comfortable everyday option, while the other comes in handy when I want to use less product and have more control. Sometimes the smallest swap in a beauty routine really can make things feel much easier.
