Hello Readers! Berry lips can instantly change the mood of a makeup look. Some days call for a soft wash of color, while other days need something deeper and a little more playful.
I’ve been drawn to watery lip tints lately because they leave color behind without making the lips feel overly done. These two berry shades caught my eye for very different reasons.
1. lilybyred Juicy Liar Water Tint 04 Blackberry — around $10
The name already gives away the vibe. Blackberry has that juicy, dark-fruit kind of color that looks especially pretty when dabbed on instead of painted on heavily. A small amount in the center of the lips creates a blurred berry stain. Add another swipe around the edges and the color becomes much richer. I like how easy it is to change the intensity depending on the rest of the makeup. With soft blush and barely-there eye makeup, this shade can make the whole look feel a little more polished.
2. COVERGIRL Clean Fresh Jelly Water Tint, Lip & Cheek 60 Berry Wiggle — around $10
Berry Wiggle has a completely different energy. The color feels bright, juicy, and playful, making it an easy choice for those quick makeup days when there’s no interest in layering several products. The lip-and-cheek format is a nice bonus. A little tint across the cheeks gives a fresh flush, then the same color on the lips creates a coordinated finish without much effort. I’d keep this one in a makeup bag for busy mornings. A few taps, some mascara, and the look already feels much more awake.
Berry shades don't have to feel intimidating. The trick is playing with the amount of tint rather than treating every shade like a full-coverage lip color. Personally, I love having choices like this for days when the makeup mood changes at the last minute.
