Greetings, Lykkers! Some makeup days are all about the eyes. Even when I skip eyeshadow, adding a little liner along the lash line can make my lashes look fuller and give the whole look more shape. I’m also picky about eyeliner texture because a formula that drags, fades quickly, or looks too harsh can ruin an otherwise easy makeup routine.
Lately, two eyeliners have stood out to me for completely different reasons: Rimmel London Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer Eyeliner and Laura Mercier Caviar Tightline Eyeliner.
1. Rimmel London Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer Eyeliner
There are mornings when I want definition without spending ten minutes trying to make the lines perfectly even. Rimmel’s Exaggerate Eye Definer fits that kind of routine. The pencil glides on with a creamy feel, making it easier to build a darker line without repeatedly going over the same spot. I especially like it for a slightly smudged look along the upper lash line. It doesn't need to look perfectly sharp to work.
2. Laura Mercier Caviar Tightline Eyeliner
Laura Mercier’s Caviar Tightline Eyeliner takes a more precise approach. Tightlining is one of my favorite little tricks when I want the lashes to look denser without having an obvious thick line sitting above them. I like working the pencil right between the lashes, especially near the outer half of the eye. It gives subtle definition while keeping the eye makeup looking clean. There’s something satisfying about that tiny detail—it may not seem dramatic while applying it, but the finished makeup looks more intentional.
Eyeliner doesn't have to be the most noticeable part of a makeup look to make a difference. Rimmel gives me more freedom to play with the shape and intensity, while Laura Mercier is the one I’d keep around for subtle lash definition.
