Good Day, Lykkers! A good manicure can look perfect when the color goes on, then lose its charm a few days later. I have learned that the top coat can make a surprisingly big difference, especially when I want my nails to stay glossy and neat without redoing them constantly.
I tested two different styles, and each one has a place in my routine.
1. Makartt Gel Top Coat
When I want that smooth, glassy finish, Makartt Gel Top Coat is the one I reach for. The shine gives my manicure a fresh salon-style appearance, and I like how polished the nails look once the top layer has been cured. What makes it especially appealing to me is the finish. It gives colored gel polish a clean, glossy surface without making the manicure feel visually heavy. I also find it useful when I want my nail color to look freshly done for longer.
2. OPI Nail Lacquer Top Coat
For regular nail polish days, I like keeping OPI Nail Lacquer Top Coat nearby. It has a more classic role in my routine: adding shine while giving the manicure a finished appearance. I especially like using it when a simple polish color needs a little extra polish. A glossy top layer can make even an uncomplicated pink or red manicure feel much more put together. It is also convenient when I do not want to use a gel system.
Between the two, Makartt is my pick for gel manicures when I want an intense glossy finish. OPI wins a spot for classic nail polish routines because it keeps things simple and easy. A top coat may seem like a tiny step, but I would not skip it anymore. Sometimes the finishing layer is what turns “I painted my nails” into “I actually got my manicure together.” If a fresh-looking manicure is the goal, choosing the right top coat is definitely worth a little extra attention.
