Hello Readers! I’ve been testing body sunscreens lately, and finding one that feels comfortable can be surprisingly difficult. A formula might blend beautifully on the body but feel completely wrong on the face. I also pay close attention to texture, white cast, and how my skin reacts around the eyes.

Here are three that stood out to me for very different reasons.

1. Serious Shade

I really like how lightweight this formula feels. The texture reminds me of Asian sunscreens because it blends in so easily and leaves no obvious white cast. It’s also affordable, which makes it easier to use generously on the body. The downside? It stung my eyes pretty badly. I still use it regularly on my body because I love the texture there, but I wouldn’t choose it for my face.

2. Josie Maran

Josie Maran feels a little thicker than Serious Shade, and that difference is noticeable. On the body, I actually like the richer finish, especially during summer when my skin can look more polished with a little extra moisture. On my oily skin, though, it was far too greasy for the face. Someone with dry or combination skin might enjoy it much more.

3. Sand & Sky

Sand & Sky has such a pretty texture. It feels lightweight, blends beautifully, and doesn’t leave an obvious white cast. I also felt like it gave my skin a little extra help with the look of redness. Unfortunately, eye stinging was another issue for me. It’s a shame because I really enjoyed the formula itself.

A sunscreen doesn’t have to work perfectly on the face to earn a place in my routine. Serious Shade and Sand & Sky are examples of formulas I still enjoy using on my body despite the eye-stinging issue, while Josie Maran makes more sense for richer body hydration. Sometimes the right move is simply using a sunscreen where it works best.
