Essence Toner Favorites

Welcome, Lykkers! There are days when a regular toner feels a little too basic for my skincare routine. I tend to reach for essence toners when my skin feels dull, tight, or simply in need of something more comforting between cleansing and moisturizing.
These three have very different personalities, so choosing a favorite really depends on what my skin is craving that day.

1. Pyunkang Yul PKY Essence Toner

Pyunkang Yul PKY Essence Toner is the kind of product I like when my routine needs to feel simple and soothing. Its thicker, essence-like texture gives it more presence than a watery toner, but it still spreads easily without making my skin feel coated. I especially like the barrier-focused feel. When my skin seems stressed from too many products or needs a softer touch, this is the bottle I would pull out.

2. I’m From Mugwort Essence

I’m From Mugwort Essence has a completely different mood. Mugwort is the star here, and I like reaching for it when my skin feels particularly sensitive or unsettled and I want something calming in my routine. The texture feels light and fluid, making it easy to layer without creating that heavy, slippery sensation that some essence products can leave behind. I usually think of it as a quiet reset step: cleanse, apply the essence, give it a moment, then continue with the rest of the routine.

3. Huxley Secret of Sahara Conditioning Essence Toner

Huxley Secret of Sahara Conditioning Essence Toner brings a slightly more luxurious feel to the lineup. The texture sits somewhere between a classic toner and a lightweight essence, so it feels substantial without becoming cumbersome. I like this one when my skin is asking for moisture but I still want to keep several steps in my routine. It gives that fresh, conditioned feeling that works particularly well before a serum or moisturizer. There is also something enjoyable about using it as part of a slower nighttime routine.
I like that these three essence toners do not feel interchangeable. One leans toward a comforting barrier-care routine, another keeps things light and calming, while the Huxley option adds a more polished, conditioned feel. For me, that is the fun part of having more than one toner in rotation: skincare does not always have to follow the exact same formula every morning and night. Sometimes the best choice is simply the texture and feeling that match what my skin seems to need.
