Welcome, Lykkers! My combination skin can be a little unpredictable. Some mornings it feels perfectly balanced, while other days my cheeks want more moisture and my T-zone seems determined to shine.
I have been trying to keep my routine simple but purposeful, adding products that help with hydration, texture, and overall comfort rather than piling on too many steps.
1. Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads — $65
Exfoliating pads are one of my favorite ways to make an evening routine feel more effective without adding another complicated step. Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads are designed to gently exfoliate, which makes them appealing when my complexion looks dull or uneven. I would reach for them on nights when my skin needs a smoother-looking finish, especially around areas where texture tends to be more noticeable. The key for me would be moderation.
2. About Me Rice Makgeolli Skin Softener — $27
A hydrating toner or skin softener can make a surprisingly big difference in how the rest of my routine feels. About Me Rice Makgeolli Skin Softener caught my attention because it focuses on adding moisture while preparing the skin for the products that follow. I like using this type of step after cleansing, especially when my skin feels a little tight. A layer of hydration before serum and moisturizer makes my routine feel more comfortable, and it can help keep combination skin from swinging between overly dry and overly shiny.
3. OSEA Essential Hydrating Oil — $36
Face oil might sound intimidating for combination skin, but I actually like the idea of using a lightweight oil strategically. OSEA Essential Hydrating Oil is the kind of product I would reserve for areas that need extra moisture rather than automatically applying a thick layer everywhere. A couple of drops pressed onto drier areas at night could help give my skin a softer, more nourished finish. I would keep the amount minimal around my T-zone and adjust depending on how my skin behaves.
I like that each product has a different job: Elemis handles exfoliation, About Me brings hydration, and OSEA adds a final layer of nourishment. Rather than changing everything at once, I would introduce each product gradually so I can actually tell how my skin responds. For combination skin, balance is the goal—not perfection. A routine that can adapt to what my skin needs from week to week is much more useful to me than following a rigid lineup every night.
