1. Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat Hair-Like Eyebrow Pencil, Medium Brown — Around $30

Charlotte Tilbury Brow Cheat has a very slim tip, which makes those tiny brow strokes much easier to create. I like starting with the tail, adding a few strokes through sparse spots, then brushing everything out with the spoolie. The Medium Brown shade gives the brows definition without making them look overly dark. It works especially well when I’m trying to copy the direction of my natural brow hairs rather than redraw the entire shape.

2. NYX Professional Makeup Micro Brow Pencil, Taupe — Around $12

For a much smaller price tag, NYX Micro Brow Pencil does a surprisingly good job at filling little gaps. The Taupe shade is my pick for a softer, less dramatic brow. I’d use short, uneven strokes rather than drawing one continuous line. Then comes the spoolie—probably the most underrated part of a brow routine. Brushing through the pencil helps soften everything and keeps the finished brows from looking too drawn-on. It’s easy to see why this one works so well as an everyday makeup-bag staple.

Charlotte Tilbury is the fancy pencil I’d reach for when I want precise, hair-like detail. NYX feels more carefree, especially for quick makeup before heading out. And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with owning the affordable favorite. Sometimes the pencil that costs less is the one that quietly becomes the everyday essential.
