Hi Lykkers! I’m always drawn to perfumes that smell fresh without becoming boring. Something about a clean citrus or airy aquatic scent just works so well for everyday plans.
Two perfumes that caught my attention are Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue and Maison Margiela REPLICA Sailing Day, and they give completely different versions of “fresh.”

1. Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette

Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue Eau de Toilette with Lemon & Apple feels bright right from the start. The lemon gives it that crisp citrus kick, while apple adds a juicy, slightly fruity touch. This is the kind of perfume I’d reach for when I want to smell fresh and put-together without wearing something that feels too serious. It fits easily into a daytime routine, whether it’s a casual lunch, running errands, or heading out on a warm afternoon.

2. Maison Margiela REPLICA Sailing Day Eau de Toilette

Maison Margiela REPLICA Sailing Day Eau de Toilette with Aquatic Accord & Iris has a completely different personality. It leans into an aquatic scent, giving me more of that cool, breezy, just-outside feeling. The aquatic accord is the star of the fragrance, while iris brings a softer edge to the composition. It doesn’t have the same fruity brightness as Light Blue, so I’d pick Sailing Day when I’m in the mood for something cleaner and more airy.
Light Blue is the brighter choice, with lemon and apple giving it a crisp fruity character. Sailing Day goes in a cooler direction, pairing an aquatic accord with iris for a breezy feel. My choice would depend on the day. Light Blue feels perfect for a sunny, casual afternoon, while Sailing Day sounds like the one I’d want when I’m craving something fresh, cool, and a little different. Fresh perfumes don’t have to be complicated. Sometimes a few well-chosen notes are enough to make a fragrance feel memorable.
