Ginseng brings hydration and nourishment, while retinal targets fine lines and loss of firmness around the eyes. What makes this one especially appealing is how light it feels — there’s none of that thick eye-cream heaviness. For me, it’s the kind of product that quietly becomes part of the routine and stays there.

Medicube Kojic Acid Vita Eye Gel Serum

Rating: 9/10

This is the one I’d choose when dark circles and dullness are the bigger concern. Medicube combines kojic acid, vitamin C, caffeine and retinol, creating a more targeted brightening formula.

The gel-serum texture feels fresh and lightweight rather than creamy, which makes it particularly nice in the morning. With regular use, the under-eye area can look brighter and less tired, while the hydrating ingredients stop the formula from feeling overly aggressive.

K-Secret Seoul 1988 Eye Cream

K-Secret Seoul 1988 Eye Cream: Retinal Liposome 4% + Fermented Bean feels like a good introduction to retinal-based eye care. The formula also includes fermented ingredients and supporting antioxidants, with the main focus on smoothing fine lines and improving firmness.

I wouldn’t rush into daily use immediately. Starting around two or three evenings per week gives the eye area time to adjust, especially if retinal is new to your routine.

mixsoon PDRN Collagen Eye Serum

This is probably my favourite option for daytime layering. The formula combines plant-derived PDRN, collagen, peptides and niacinamide, with a focus on hydration, elasticity and a brighter-looking eye area.

It absorbs quickly and sits nicely beneath makeup without leaving the skin greasy. The finish is smooth and comfortable, making it particularly easy to use when you want eye care without adding another noticeable layer beneath concealer.

Which One Stands Out?

For an everyday retinal formula, Beauty of Joseon is difficult to beat. Medicube feels more targeted towards dark circles, K-Secret is worth considering for gradual retinal care, while mixsoon is the easiest daytime pick when hydration and makeup-friendly texture matter most.
