I rely on express self-tanners year-round because they're the perfect fix for last-minute plans, events, or days when I simply want to look more alive fast.
After testing countless formulas, these three continue to stand out—each for totally different reasons. Here's how they compare and what makes each one shine (or fall short)!

1. Loving Tan – 2 Hour Express (Dark)

This formula gives me that vacation-level depth without the actual vacation. The color payoff is rich, smooth, and impressively streak-free, which makes it one of my most dependable options. The only drawback is that the guide color transfers easily, so wearing anything light right after applying is a definite no. Still, the finish is so flawless that I keep coming back.

2. Isle of Paradise – Express (Ultra Dark)

A major win for this one is the cool-toned finish—it looks natural, balanced, and never too orange. The cleaner ingredient profile is another bonus that makes me reach for it often. The only hiccup is the fade… it tends to break down unevenly on me, so I need to exfoliate more consistently when using this formula.

3. SOL by Jergens – No Wait Tropical Tan (Deep)

What makes this product stand out is how quickly it dries. Once it sets, I don't have to worry about color transferring to clothes or sheets, which is a rare perk with instant tans. The color leans more yellow than I prefer, though, so it isn't my top choice when I want that rich, bronzed finish.
Each express tan serves a different purpose: Loving Tan for the deepest, most reliable bronze; Isle of Paradise for a clean formula and cool undertones; and SOL by Jergens for a transfer-resistant finish when you're in a rush. Depending on the occasion, any of them can be the "best" option—just match the formula to your tanning goals. Which express self-tan are you loving right now?
