Lip balms have fully stepped into their main-character era, and these three are everywhere for a reason.
I’ve tried all of them, loved them in different ways, but none are flawless. Here’s my honest breakdown of how they perform in real life, not just on social media!
1. Summer Fridays Lip Balm
This one feels incredibly buttery the moment it touches your lips. The texture is smooth and cushiony, leaning more balm than gloss. It doesn’t give that ultra-shiny finish, but it does deliver long-lasting hydration. Whenever my lips feel dry or tight, this is the one that instantly makes them feel comfortable again.
2. Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment
At one point, this was my absolute favorite. The shine is next level, and the hydration feels amazing at first. Over time though, the formula tends to turn grainy, which takes away from the experience. It’s frustrating, especially considering how many times I’ve repurchased it hoping the issue would be fixed. Still glossy and effective, just inconsistent.
3. Laneige Lip Balm / Lip Mask
This is the thickest formula of the three, no competition. It feels rich and deeply nourishing, making it ideal as an overnight lip treatment. I reach for this when my lips are seriously dry and need repair instead of shine. It’s less about aesthetics and more about long-term moisture.
All three lip balms do their job, just in different ways. Summer Fridays wins for everyday comfort, Rhode delivers that juicy gloss (when the formula behaves), and Laneige is unmatched for intensive care. None are perfect, but each one shines in its own lane. Choosing the best one really depends on what your lips need most.
