A dry or itchy scalp can be incredibly uncomfortable, especially when the seasons start to change.
As summer approaches, I notice my scalp needs extra care to stay balanced and healthy. Over time, I’ve found a simple routine that helps calm irritation, reduce dryness, and keep my scalp feeling refreshed. Here’s what works for me!

1. Glycolic Acid (Scalp Pre-Treatment)

Glycolic acid has been a game changer for my scalp. I use it as a pre-treatment before showering, shampooing, and conditioning. It gently exfoliates the scalp, helping remove dandruff and product buildup that can cause itchiness. This step leaves my scalp feeling clean and ready to absorb moisture more effectively.

2. Oilology Scalp Oil

For deeper nourishment, I reach for a scalp oil, and Oilology has been my favorite lately. Any scalp-safe oil can work, but this one has helped tremendously as my scalp gets drier with warmer weather. I usually apply it at night, giving it time to soak in and do its job while I rest. By morning, my scalp feels calmer and more comfortable.

3. Moroccanoil Treatment

This oil is lighter than the others I use, which makes it perfect for daytime application. A small amount goes a long way, so I gently massage it into my scalp when my hair is about halfway dry after a shower. I then blow-dry my hair to about 80% before letting it air-dry naturally. The result is a nourished scalp without any greasy look.
Caring for your scalp is just as important as caring for your hair. A few thoughtful steps can make a big difference in reducing dryness and itchiness. This routine keeps my scalp balanced, comfortable, and healthy, especially during seasonal changes.
