A good glowy primer can completely change how makeup looks and wears throughout the day.
I always gravitate toward products that give the skin a radiant, healthy finish without feeling heavy. After trying many popular options, these are the primers that left a lasting impression—some for the right reasons, others not so much!

1. Dior Backstage Face & Body Primer

This primer surprised me in the best way. While it’s often described as mattifying, it actually leaves the skin looking smooth, fresh, and naturally radiant. The formula feels comfortable and hydrating, making makeup apply more evenly. It creates a refined glow that looks polished rather than overly shiny.

2. Charlotte Tilbury Primer

This product truly lives up to its reputation. The texture feels weightless on the skin while still offering enough coverage to wear on its own when needed. The finish looks soft and luminous, almost like a silky veil over the skin. It enhances the complexion without feeling greasy or heavy.

3. Glossier Futuredew

I had high hopes for this one. The glow it gives is undeniably unique, but the texture didn’t work well for my skin. It felt too oily and caused some makeup to crease and look uneven. The scent also wasn’t my favorite, which made it harder to reach for regularly.

4. Glow Recipe Dew Drops

This primer delivers the most intense glow out of all of them. The scent is pleasant, and it instantly boosts radiance. That said, the formula can feel a bit heavy, especially when layered with other products. Used sparingly, it can look beautiful, but moderation is key.
Glowy primers aren’t one-size-fits-all. Some give a soft, natural radiance, while others go full glow mode. Finding the right one depends on how your skin reacts and the finish you love most. When the formula works, it can make all the difference in how makeup comes together
