Skincare is very personal, and not every product works for every skin type.
Even well-loved, viral, or highly rated products can miss the mark depending on sensitivity, ingredients, or individual skin needs. These are a few products that didn’t work for me, so they won’t be making their way back into my routine. That said, results can vary, and what didn’t suit my skin may work perfectly for someone else.
1. Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Acid Toner – not for my sensitive skin
The Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Acid Toner is a popular bestseller, which is why I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, my skin reacted almost immediately. After applying it, my face became noticeably red and felt irritated and uncomfortable.
2. Beet Energy Ampoule – nice glow, but not a must-have
The Beet Energy Ampoule wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t stand out enough for me to repurchase. It provided decent hydration and layered nicely under makeup, giving the skin a healthy, luminous finish. Even though it performed well in that sense, I personally found that hyaluronic acid-based products work better for my skin overall.
3. GlyMed Plus Treatment – great brand, wrong fit
GlyMed Plus is a brand I genuinely respect and admire, which made this one disappointing. This particular product just didn’t agree with my skin and caused irritation after use. It’s hard to say whether it was a specific ingredient, the way I incorporated it into my routine, or simply incompatibility with my skin type.
Not every skincare product is meant to work for everyone, and that’s okay. Listening to your skin and knowing when to stop using something is just as important as finding holy-grail products. These items may be favorites for others, but for me, they didn’t deliver the comfort or results I look for. Skincare is all about trial, patience, and learning what truly works for your skin.
