Recently I went lighter — more blonde, more bright and I quickly realized blonde needs maintenance. The worst part? Those brassy orange and yellow tones that slowly creep in.
I prefer a cooler, darker blonde instead of anything too warm, so using the right toning products makes all the difference. These are the two that have truly worked for me.
1. Purple Shampoo – L’Oréal
When it comes to purple shampoo, the one that works best for me is the L’Oréal purple shampoo that I get from Watsons. It’s easy to find, affordable, and actually does what it promises. The purple pigments help neutralize those unwanted tones and bring back that cool blonde finish. I leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing, depending on how brassy my hair looks that week. Simple, effective, and low effort.
2. Miss Dear Salon Coloured Hair Mask – CHOCO MILK Shade
This one is more than just a mask — it tones and nourishes at the same time. After shampooing, I apply it evenly and leave it on for about 5–10 minutes before rinsing. I chose CHOCO MILK because I prefer a cool-toned dark blonde instead of platinum. It subtly adjusts the tone while keeping my hair soft and smooth.
The right products truly make coloured hair easier to manage and way more enjoyable!
