Mascara is one of those things I never skip, even on the laziest days. It’s quick, it’s simple, and somehow it makes me look more awake than I actually feel.
Over time, I’ve rotated between a few favorites—some for everyday wear, some when I want a bit more drama. These four have stayed in my makeup pouch longer than expected, each for slightly different reasons.

1. ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara

This one feels like the “clean girl” version of mascara. The first time I used it, I noticed how natural my lashes looked—defined, lifted, but not overly dramatic. It has this dual-sided brush that actually makes a difference; one side separates, the other builds. I usually reach for this when I want something polished but low effort, like for a casual day out or even just running errands. It doesn’t flake on me, which already puts it ahead of many others I’ve tried.

2. Maybelline Sky High Mascara

I get why this one went viral. The length it gives is no joke. My lashes look noticeably longer, almost like I put more effort into my makeup than I actually did. The formula is lightweight, so I can layer it without that heavy, clumpy feeling. I tend to grab this when I want my eyes to stand out a bit more—maybe for photos or a longer day outside. It holds curl pretty well too, which is a bonus since my lashes tend to drop.

3. Tower 28 MakeWaves Mascara

This mascara feels gentle in a way that’s hard to explain until you try it. It’s the one I use when my eyes feel a bit sensitive or when I just want something soft and fluttery. The effect isn’t overly bold, but it gives a nice lift and separation that looks fresh rather than dramatic. It’s also easy to remove, which I appreciate on nights when I’m too tired to deal with stubborn makeup. It’s not trying too hard—and that’s exactly why I like it.

4. L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara

This one has been around forever, and honestly, it makes sense why. The brush is super slim, which helps get into the smaller lashes without making a mess. It’s not about volume—it’s all about length and precision. When I use this, my lashes look more defined, almost like each one is placed intentionally. It’s especially good for lower lashes, where most mascaras tend to smudge or clump. I don’t always use it alone, sometimes I layer it with another mascara, but it definitely has its place.
Mascara isn’t really one-size-fits-all. Some days I want something soft and barely there, other days I want my lashes to do most of the talking. Having a few options makes it easier to match the mood without overthinking it—and honestly, that’s part of the fun.
