Welcome, Lykkers! Removing makeup is the perfect first step in a double-cleanse routine, especially when using a cleansing balm or oil. I personally prefer balms because they feel satisfying to use and make removing makeup feel much less like a chore.
These are two favorites that have earned a permanent spot in my routine for different reasons. One is an affordable everyday staple, while the other is especially convenient when traveling!

The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm

Price: $13
This is my all-time favorite cleansing balm, and I’ve repurchased it countless times. That alone says a lot! It is affordable, lasts a long time, and gets the job done without making makeup removal feel complicated. I love how easy it is to work into the routine. A small amount can be massaged onto the skin to help break down makeup before rinsing and moving on to the second cleansing step.

Haba Squa Cleansing Balm

Price: $26
This one is a favorite for travel because of its solid balm format. Instead of worrying about a liquid cleanser spilling inside a toiletry bag, the solid texture makes it particularly convenient to pack. It also comes with a little spoon for scooping out the product, which makes using it much neater and more convenient. There is something so satisfying about having a cleansing balm that feels made for traveling.
A good cleansing balm can make the first step of double cleansing feel quick and effortless. The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is my go-to everyday favorite, while Haba Squa Cleansing Balm gets extra points for travel. Different strengths, same goal: getting makeup off without making the routine complicated!
