Pressed powder is one of my favorite makeup-bag essentials because it can quickly change the look of my base. I like having different formulas depending on whether I want to brighten, smooth, or control shine.
Three powders I’d happily keep around are essence, AOA Studio, and NYX Professional Makeup.

1. essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder in 20 Bababanana

The essence Brighten Up! Banana Powder in 20 Bababanana is the one I’d reach for when my makeup needs a little extra brightness. The yellow-toned powder can be especially handy around areas such as the under-eyes or center of the face. I prefer applying a thin layer rather than packing on too much product. The compact format also makes it easy to toss into my bag for quick touch-ups.

2. AOA Studio Flawless Pressed Powder

AOA Studio Flawless Pressed Powder feels like the practical everyday option in my lineup. I like using pressed powder when I want to smooth the appearance of my base without adding another heavy layer. A fluffy brush gives me a softer finish, while a sponge can add more coverage where needed. It’s the type of product I’d keep nearby for those quick makeup fixes during the day.

3. NYX Professional Makeup Can't Stop Won't Stop Mattifying Powder

NYX Professional Makeup Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Mattifying Powder is the one I’d choose when shine starts taking over my makeup. Its mattifying finish makes it useful for areas such as the T-zone, especially when I want my foundation to look more controlled. I like pressing a small amount onto shiny areas instead of covering my entire face with powder. That way, the base can still keep some dimension.
Each powder has a different job in my makeup routine. essence gives me that brightening touch, AOA Studio keeps things simple and versatile, while NYX is my go-to when I want more shine control. Having all three means I can adjust my base depending on the finish I’m in the mood for that day.
