Nail Trends I'm Loving

Lately, I've been drawn to manicures that feel sophisticated without being overly complicated. Rich, glossy shades are perfect for making a statement, while delicate pinks and understated French tips offer a softer alternative.
These three trends capture exactly what I love about modern nail designs: beautiful colours, wearable finishes and little details that make all the difference.

Shades Of Brown

Chocolate brown has become one of my favourite alternatives to classic burgundy and black. What makes this trend particularly interesting is the variety of shades, from warm caramel and milk chocolate to deep espresso and cooler taupe. A glossy finish gives darker colours a luxurious appearance, while softer browns create an effortlessly understated manicure.
For a rich chocolate look, I'd choose OPI Nail Lacquer in the shade Chocolate Moose. If I wanted something slightly cooler and more muted, Essie Clothing Optional would be a lovely option. Both work beautifully with short, rounded nails, although longer almond shapes can make deeper shades look especially elegant.
I also love the idea of adding subtle metallic details or a delicate shimmer to a brown manicure. A glossy top coat, such as Essie Gel Couture Top Coat, is a simple way to create that smooth, reflective finish.

Classic Cat Eye Nails

The classic cat eye manicure features a concentrated line of shimmer that resembles the reflection in a cat's eye. I love how this technique transforms a simple colour into something much more interesting without requiring elaborate nail art.
To recreate the effect, I'd use a magnetic gel polish from Born Pretty's Cat Eye collection. After applying the colour, hold a nail magnet close to the uncured polish to draw the metallic particles into a luminous stripe. Finish with a glossy top coat to enhance the dimensional effect.

Soft French Manicure

The soft French manicure is the complete opposite of dramatic chocolate nails, and that's exactly why I love it. Instead of sharply defined white tips, this version features delicate, slightly blurred transitions between a sheer pink base and milky white edges.
The result is incredibly natural, almost as though the nails have simply been perfected. It works particularly well on almond-shaped nails, although short oval and square shapes look equally beautiful.
For the base, I'd choose OPI Bubble Bath, a delicate pink that complements this understated aesthetic. Essie Ballet Slippers is another lovely option for creating a soft, milky appearance. A thin layer of OPI Funny Bunny can help achieve the delicate white tips.
My favourite way to wear this trend is with a subtle gradient rather than a sharply painted French line. A small makeup sponge can help soften the transition between the two colours.
These three styles offer different ways to create an elegant manicure, whether you're drawn to glossy chocolate shades, reflective chrome or delicate French tips. I'd choose rich browns for an autumn wardrobe and keep the soft French manicure in mind whenever I want something timeless and versatile.
