Exfoliants Worth Trying

Smooth-looking skin is nice, but figuring out exfoliation can feel a little overwhelming with so many products out there.
I prefer choosing an exfoliant based on what my skin needs instead of using everything at once. Paula’s Choice, Peach Slices, and COSRX are three options I’d consider when dealing with clogged pores, breakouts, or uneven texture.
1. Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
This is the kind of product that gets my attention when blackheads and stubborn-looking pores become a concern. Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant contains salicylic acid, an ingredient known for helping exfoliate inside pores and improve the appearance of congestion. I’d start with a small amount after cleansing, following the product directions, and keep the rest of my routine gentle.
2. Peach Slices Acne Exfoliating Toner
For days when blemishes and uneven texture are on my mind, Peach Slices Acne Exfoliating Toner is another option worth considering. I like the idea of having a targeted toner in my routine, particularly when my skin needs more attention than a basic hydrating step. Since exfoliating toners can be drying, I’d introduce it gradually rather than immediately using it every day. A simple moisturizer afterward helps keep the routine balanced, and sunscreen is essential the next morning.
3. COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid
Whiteheads and rough patches call for a slightly different approach, which is why COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid stands out to me. Its 7% glycolic acid formula uses an AHA that works on the skin’s surface to help improve the appearance of dullness and uneven texture. I’d use it on a separate night from other strong exfoliating products instead of layering everything together. Starting slowly is important here, too, because too much exfoliation can leave skin feeling tight, sensitive, or uncomfortable.
Exfoliation works best when it fits the skin’s needs—not when the routine contains the most active ingredients. I’d introduce one product at a time, moisturize consistently, and use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily. A little patience can go a long way toward keeping a skincare routine comfortable and manageable.
