Some hair days call for more than a quick shampoo and conditioner. When my lengths start feeling rough, my ends look tired, or my hair loses that soft, glossy finish, I switch to products that focus on cleansing gently and adding moisture back in.
These are the shampoos and masks I would choose when I want my hair to look healthier without turning the routine into a complicated salon-level ritual.

K18 Peptide Prep, Elephant Cocomino Glossing Shampoo and Olaplex No.4

I’m quite picky with shampoo because I want my scalp to feel properly clean without my lengths feeling stripped afterwards. K18 Peptide Prep pH Maintenance Shampoo is the one I would choose when my hair has already been through a lot of styling or chemical treatments. It feels like the kind of shampoo that fits naturally into a repair-focused routine, especially when I plan to follow with richer treatments.
Elephant Cocomino Glossing Shampoo is more of my choice when dullness is the main problem. I love anything that can make freshly washed hair look a little smoother and shinier without relying on a heavy finish. It also contains panthenol and a coconut-derived amino acid blend, which makes it sound especially appealing when my hair feels dry but I still want a proper cleanse.
Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo is the one I would reach for when I want that classic strengthening step in my routine. I like it most for hair that feels weakened from heat styling, colouring or frequent brushing. I would only use a small amount, concentrate it mainly at the roots and let the foam run through the lengths rather than aggressively rubbing the ends.

Gisou, Briogeo and Fable & Mane Hair Masks

Hair masks are easily my favourite part of wash day because this is where I notice the biggest difference in softness. Gisou Honey Infused Hair Mask feels like the perfect option when I want my hair to look polished and glossy. I would use it through the mid-lengths and ends, leave it on for a few minutes and rinse thoroughly so the hair still feels light.
The green Briogeo Superfoods Avocado + Kiwi Mega Moisture Hair Mask is the one I would pick when my hair feels especially thirsty. I love richer masks like this after several days of heat styling because they make detangling much easier and help my lengths feel softer immediately after washing.
Fable & Mane HoliRoots Hair Mask feels like the most intensive option of the three. I would save this one for those moments when my ends feel noticeably rough or stressed and I want a proper treatment rather than a quick conditioning step. With richer masks, I usually avoid applying them close to my roots and focus almost entirely on the areas that actually need extra nourishment.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned with damaged hair is that more product does not automatically mean better results. A gentle shampoo, one good treatment and a little patience can make a much bigger difference than layering everything at once. I prefer choosing products according to what my hair needs that day, and this combination gives me enough options for everything from simple dryness to a full repair-focused wash day.
