Autumn Nails I’d Wear

· Fashion team
I love that both feel seasonal without relying on complicated nail art.
One adds a playful detail to dark shades, while the other turns a simple brown manicure into something incredibly polished.
Autumn Polka Dots
Polka-dot nails are one of those trends I didn’t expect to love this much. Instead of bright retro colors, I prefer the autumn version: deep burgundy, espresso, or dark chocolate topped with tiny contrasting dots.
The combination feels playful but still sophisticated. On a red base, I would add very small cream, pale pink, or white dots and keep plenty of space between them. That makes the design look intentional rather than busy.
For this manicure, I’d use shades such as OPI Malaga Burgundy, Essie Bordeaux, or Chanel Rouge Noir as the dark base. A dotting tool makes the pattern much easier, but the rounded end of a bobby pin can also create tiny dots at home.
I especially like this design on almond nails because the elongated shape balances the playful pattern. On shorter nails, I would choose fewer dots and keep them very small.
Chocolate Brown Nails
If I wanted the easiest autumn manicure possible, I would choose chocolate brown. Rich coffee and cocoa shades have the same depth as burgundy but feel a little softer and more neutral.
The finish is what makes this trend work for me. I want the nails extremely glossy, almost like melted chocolate. There is no need for extra decoration because the color itself already looks luxurious.
Some shades I’d reach for are OPI Espresso Your Style, Essie Take Me to Thread, Dior Vernis in a deep brown tone, or CND Fedora. I would choose a warmer milk-chocolate shade for daytime and a darker espresso brown when I want something more dramatic.
Chocolate brown also works with almost every nail length. I love it on short square nails for a clean minimalist effect, but it looks equally beautiful on longer almond nails.
Which One I’d Choose
For a more playful manicure, I would pick the burgundy polka-dot design. It still feels elegant, but the tiny dots make it much more interesting when I look at my hands up close.
For everyday wear, chocolate brown would win. It is simple, warm, glossy, and incredibly easy to combine with autumn clothes and gold jewelry.
Both trends give me exactly what I want from an autumn manicure: rich color, a polished finish, and enough personality to make even a simple look feel special.
